The town of Snow Lake was originally brought to life by gold mining. Prospectors discovered mineralization in the region in the 1940s, which officially became a town in 1947. Snow Lake quickly became successful due to the construction and operation of the New Britannia Mine as well as other mineral discoveries nearby. Mining and tourism continue to be the economic mainstays of this dual industry town.
Both the near and long-term success of Garson Gold depends on the strength of its relationships within Snow Lake and surrounding communities where the Company conducts its mineral exploration and development business.
Garson Gold strives to engage and collaborate with local communities and governments; ensuring transparency and accountability, and in so doing, respecting cultures, customs, and values while interacting with all stakeholders affected by our activities. The Company also strives to conduct its activities in the communities in which we operate in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Garson Gold contributes to the social and economic development of Snow Lake by providing local training and employment opportunities, by procuring goods and services from local businesses, and by creating effective community partnerships where possible. The Company contributes to local organizations, events, and initiatives that support and strengthen the community of Snow Lake.
Garson Gold will continue to place value on effective engagement, meaningful consultation, and open dialogue with our stakeholders to maintain open lines of communication and mutually beneficial support as we move forward with our plans to re-activate the New Britannia Mine.
